Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu extends warm felicitations to Afenifere's Fasoranti on his centenary birthday

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended his congratulations to Reuben Fasoranti, a revered elder statesman and leader of Afenifere, on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary, acknowledging his remarkable legacy as a dedicated leader and one of the last remaining disciples of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Sanwo-Olu, who also serves as Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, praised Fasoranti's enduring contributions to the advancement of Yorubaland and Nigeria, describing him as a highly respected and passionate statesman whose imprint on education, leadership, and public service is impossible to erase.

Through a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile, the governor highlighted Fasoranti's courageous and uncompromising leadership style, which has positively impacted countless lives and demonstrated his unwavering commitment to public service and community development.

Sanwo-Olu noted that the people of Yorubaland deeply appreciate Fasoranti's leadership over the years and take great pride in celebrating his centenary, with the governor expressing his gratitude on behalf of his family, the government and people of Lagos State, as well as his fellow governors in the Southwest.

Sanwo-Olu commended Fasoranti's remarkable leadership of Afenifere, navigating the organization with wisdom and dedication, and praised his decades-long commitment to fighting for truth, equity, justice, true federalism, and good governance.

The governor also acknowledged Fasoranti's devotion to the Nigeria project since his active years, underscoring the significance of his contributions to the nation's development.

Sanwo-Olu expressed his gratitude to God for Fasoranti's good health and sound mind at the age of 100, and prayed for the Almighty to grant him more years of impactful service, filled with good health, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
