Lagos APC takes Tinubu, Hamzat 2027 campaign to Nigerians in US

The Lagos State All Progressives Congress campaign organisation for President Bola Tinubu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has taken its 2027 mobilisation campaign to Nigerians in Chicago, United States.

The campaign engagement followed the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Diaspora – Chicago chapter, according to a statement released by the Publicity Secretary of the diaspora campaign committee for PBAT-KOH, Ayodele Tinubu.

The statement, shared with PUNCH Online on Sunday, said the Director of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Special Duties Committee: Diaspora, Gbolahan Gbadamosi, led the campaign message at the event, which brought together members of the Nigerian diaspora and APC supporters.

Also present was the Chairman of the APC United Kingdom, Tunde Doherty, alongside other members of the Nigerian community and supporters of the party.

Addressing participants, Gbadamosi urged Nigerians in the diaspora to engage their families, communities and networks in Nigeria on government policies and programmes and encourage what he described as informed participation in the 2027 elections.

He said the Tinubu administration had “undertaken reforms and interventions in areas including the economy, education and infrastructure,” while efforts were being made to “strengthen national security and create a foundation for sustainable development.”

Gbadamosi also called for “continuity of the administration’s reforms,” saying this would be important to achieving its stated development objectives.

On Lagos State, the Director of the Diaspora Committee called for continuity in the state’s development trajectory.

He described “Hamzat as a politician with extensive knowledge of Lagos and its governance structures,” saying his experience would be relevant to advancing the state’s development agenda.

“Lagos cannot afford experimentation when there is a need to consolidate the gains of development.

“With Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, a man who understands Lagos and its people, the Forward Lagos Agenda can build on existing foundations and pursue further development,” he stated.

Gbadamosi further called on diaspora stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, information-sharing and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his remarks, Doherty expressed confidence in the APC’s candidates and urged “Nigerians to remain engaged with the democratic process.”

He called for continued communication of the party’s policies, programmes and vision to Nigerians at home and abroad and urged support for Tinubu, Hamzat and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The statement said the Chicago engagement formed part of the broader diaspora mobilisation activities of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, Special Duties Committee: Diaspora.

It added that the event also provided an “opportunity for diaspora stakeholders to strengthen their networks and discuss the role of Nigerians abroad in Nigeria’s political and developmental conversations.”
