Kwankwaso reveals his daughter persuaded him to collaborate with Obi last year

This revelation came during an interview on Arise TV on Monday, where Kwankwaso used the story to highlight the growing disconnect between Nigeria's aging political leaders and the younger generation, who have distinctly different political inclinations.

Kwankwaso recounted that even within his own household, his daughter had suggested he collaborate with Peter Obi during the 2023 election, demonstrating the breadth of Obi's appeal across different regions.

The former Kano State governor noted that this was not an isolated incident, implying that both his Kwankwasiyya movement and Obi's support base have a more extensive cross-regional appeal than is often acknowledged in conventional political analysis.

Kwankwaso pointed out that the influence of his movement can be found even in unexpected places, such as within households in the south, where individuals like a watchman or house boy might be supporters without openly expressing their allegiance.

He emphasized that the divide between older and younger Nigerians on political issues has become too significant to ignore, with the country's established leaders failing to comprehend the extent of the shift in attitudes and values.

Kwankwaso argued that the older generation, including himself and Atiku, is outnumbered by the younger population, who think differently and prioritize different issues when making voting decisions.

The political class, according to Kwankwaso, remains mired in discussions about ethnicity and religion, which no longer reflect the factors that influence the voting choices of young Nigerians.
