Katsina State Governor inaugurates pair of freshly appointed Islamic judges, emphasizing importance of impartiality and equity

Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, the Governor of Katsina State, administered the oath of office to two newly appointed Kadis of the Upper Sharia Court on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for them to uphold justice with integrity, fairness, and a deep sense of accountability to Allah.

The newly sworn-in Kadis, Kadi Ibrahim Abdullahi Yakubu Dandume and Kadi Bala Salisu Daura, were selected based on a recommendation from the National Judicial Council, which was subsequently approved by the governor.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government House in Katsina, where the governor addressed the new judicial officers, highlighting the significance of the oath they had taken as a solemn pledge that outlines their duties and responsibilities.

Governor Radda opted not to deliver a lengthy speech, noting that the oath of office had already encapsulated the essence of their role, and that the new Kadis were well aware of the responsibilities they had undertaken and the principles they had sworn to uphold.

At a time when the fair and impartial administration of justice is crucial for maintaining peace, harmony, and social cohesion, the governor emphasized the significant role the new Kadis play in serving the people and the state with integrity, fairness, and a deep sense of reverence for Allah.

The governor expressed his belief that these appointments would bolster the state's judiciary and enhance public trust in the Sharia judicial system, while also commending the judiciary, under the leadership of the Chief Judge, for its unwavering commitment to delivering justice.

He reaffirmed his administration's support for the judiciary and urged all institutions to contribute to maintaining peace and security throughout the state, emphasizing the importance of collective effort and cooperation.

According to Governor Radda, since Katsina State is their home, it is imperative that all stakeholders work together, cooperate, and remain united in their quest to make the state a better place for its people, as there is no alternative state to which they can turn.
