Kanu remains unbothered by Zambia's streak of consecutive matches without a loss

As the Super Falcons prepare to face Zambia in their crucial 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Group C clash, forward Uchenna Kanu remains unfazed by Zambia’s impressive record, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
nNigeria's campaign is in need of a boost after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Malawi in their opening game, making a positive result against Zambia essential for revival.
nZambia's unbeaten streak in the WAFCON group stage since 2018 is a notable one, but Kanu is resolute that the Falcons' focus is on securing points rather than being intimidated by their opponents' record.
nKanu emphasized the importance of taking every game seriously, stating "Every team is good, and I think it’s important that we take every game seriously, it doesn’t matter who we’re playing," in a statement to reporters in Morocco.
nWhen asked about the upcoming match against Zambia, Kanu viewed it as "another game, another challenge, another opportunity to be ourselves on the field," and expressed that the team's focus is on getting points rather than dwelling on Zambia's past performances.
nKanu acknowledged Zambia's quality, but the Falcons are eager for the encounter, with Kanu saying "Zambia is a good team, just like everyone else, and we’re looking forward to that day," and anticipating a good game.
nThe forward expressed her excitement for the match, adding that "It’s going to be a good game, and I’m excited," and is confident in her team's abilities.
nKanu also made an appeal to Nigerians to continue supporting the team despite the defeat to Malawi, urging them "not to give up on us" as the team works to rectify their mistakes.
nThe team's determination to make Nigerians proud was evident in Kanu's conclusion, where she stated "We need everyone together, we can’t be divided, we are ready, and we will make Nigerians proud and bring everyone back together again."
