Kano state governor reiterates pledge to bolster safety measures

Abba Yusuf, the Kano State Governor, has reaffirmed his administration's steadfast dedication to bolstering security throughout the state, with the safeguarding of lives and property remaining a paramount concern for his government.

On Sunday, Governor Yusuf received the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who paid him a traditional Sallah homage at the Government House, accompanied by a delegation of District Heads and other members of the emirate council.

This encounter was outlined in a statement released by Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, the governor's Spokesperson, in Kano on Sunday, highlighting the governor's resolute stance on security.

According to Governor Yusuf, "We are committed to strengthening security across the 44 local government areas of the state as security remains the top priority of our government," underscoring the administration's unwavering commitment to this cause.

Represented by Isma’il Jibril Falgore, the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Governor Yusuf acknowledged the vital role of peace and stability in driving sustainable development, and assured that proactive measures are being implemented to enhance security architecture.

These measures include strengthening collaboration with security agencies and promoting community-based initiatives aimed at curbing crime and maintaining law and order across Kano State, in a bid to create a safer environment for all citizens.

Furthermore, Governor Yusuf urged parents to focus on properly raising their children, emphasizing the importance of instilling good values and producing responsible leaders for the future.

The governor also commended the Emir and the traditional institution for their continuous support in fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, and effective communication between the government and the grassroots.

Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir, praised the state government for its remarkable achievements in the education sector and encouraged further efforts in the areas of health and youth empowerment.

The monarch reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional institution to supporting government efforts in maintaining peace and stability, and pledged continued cooperation in mobilising communities and promoting values that discourage criminal activities and social unrest.

The Sallah homage, a longstanding symbol of mutual respect and cooperation between the government and traditional authorities, provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on matters of governance, security, and the overall well-being of the people of the State.
