Kano State Governor Fires Investment Commissioner

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has taken immediate action to relieve Shehu Sagagi of his duties as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, bringing an end to his tenure.

As part of the transition, Sagagi has been instructed to transfer the responsibilities of the ministry to the Director of Commerce, who will oversee affairs until further instructions are given.

Governor Yusuf has expressed gratitude for the services Sagagi provided during his time in office, acknowledging his contributions to the state's development, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, and support for small and medium enterprises.

This move comes on the heels of the governor's decision to relieve the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment, as part of a push to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery.

Following his removal, Musa was directed to hand over to Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, Cabinet Office, who is currently serving in an acting capacity until a substantive appointment is made.
