Kano State Government Names 19 Additional Top Civil Servants, Transfers 14 Others to New Roles

The Kano State Government has given its approval for the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries, in addition to the redeployment of 14 existing ones, affecting various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies within the state's civil service.

This development was announced by the state's Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, through a statement issued by Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman, the Director of Public Enlightenment, on Tuesday in Kano.

According to Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman, these appointments signify a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of the state.

A statement issued by the Office of the Head of Civil Service conveyed the approval of Kano State's Executive Governor, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the appointment and deployment of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service.

The redeployment is a follow-up to the recent promotion of deserving Directors to the position of Permanent Secretaries, aimed at bolstering the government's machinery for effective and efficient service delivery.

It is expected that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries will discharge their duties diligently and competently, contributing to the promotion of the administration's lofty goals.

The posting of the new and redeployed Permanent Secretaries takes immediate effect, with all necessary handing and taking over procedures to be completed on or before Wednesday, 12th August, 2026.
