Jigawa State Governor Installs Six Additional Assistants, Emphasizes Importance of Collaboration

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has sworn in six new aides, urging all appointed members of his administration to work as a team and uphold their oaths of office to ensure the state’s development.

The event, which was administered by the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Abdulkadir Fanini, was held on Monday at the Council Chamber, Jigawa State Government House, Dutse, the state capital.

The appointees later signed the oath of office forms before the governor and members of the State Executive Council in the presence of hundreds of family members, friends and well-wishers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Namadi said the appointments were aimed at strengthening governance, saying, “This exercise is to strengthen the machineries of government towards a better Jigawa,” adding that the new aides were selected based on capacity and grassroots connection.

“The appointees are of the grassroots and have been appointed on merit,” he stated.

The governor also reminded the appointees of the responsibility that comes with holding a public office.

“I call on you to always remember your oath of office as it will surely guide you in the discharge of your duties,” he said, urging them to embrace collaboration in their respective offices.

“I urge you to work in teams for better results that will positively impact the lives of our people,” Namadi added, as he concluded by wishing the newly appointed aides success in their new roles.

Our correspondent reports that those sworn-in include Muftahu Majia as the Technical Adviser on Higher Education, Salma Wakili as the Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, Adamu Garkuwa as the Special Adviser on Hajj Affairs, and Mubarak Aliyu as the Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs.

Other appointees are Musbahu Kaugama as Special Adviser on Special Investment and Bala Sule as Special Adviser on Non-Governmental Organisations.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, Majia expressed gratitude to the governor. saying, “We thank His Excellency for the confidence reposed in us. We will not betray this trust. We are committed to teamwork, dedication and service delivery in line with the vision of a better Jigawa.”

Majia pledged that the new team would bring fresh ideas to their offices.

“We will use our positions to support policies that will promote education, investment and community development across the state,” he added.
