Iran strikes another Kuwaiti electricity facility, Bahrain fends off airborne assaults

Kuwait announced on Saturday that Iran had launched another assault on one of its power and water facilities, resulting in the deactivation of several power generation units, just a day after a similar incident occurred.

This latest attack comes on the heels of a previous one, which took place on Friday and caused a fire and damage to the facility, marking the second such incident in as many days.

According to Kuwait's ministry of electricity and water, the recent attack involved a hostile assault on an electricity and water distillation plant, leading to a fire in one of the plant's components.

Kuwait's fire service reported that the Iranian attacks on Saturday sparked fires at two separate locations, injuring several firefighters and a worker in the process.

The national carrier of Kuwait stated that most of its flights were being rescheduled due to the temporary suspension of air traffic at Kuwait International Airport, which was caused by rocket and drone attacks.

In a related development, the army in Bahrain announced that its air defence systems had successfully repelled a wave of Iranian attacks, while an AFP journalist in Manama reported hearing blasts after sirens sounded.

The Bahraini army issued a statement saying that its air defence systems had thwarted the Iranian strikes, intercepting and destroying several Iranian aerial assaults.

Bahrain's interior ministry reported that air-raid sirens had sounded five times since dawn, urging residents to seek shelter in response to the attacks.

Earlier, the Iranian army claimed that it had targeted a US air base in Bahrain, as retaliation for American strikes, with drones targeting specific areas such as aircraft shelters and fuel storage tanks at Sheikh Isa Air Base.

The Iranian army also stated that the drones had targeted connecting bridges in Bahrain, in addition to the US military's aircraft shelters, parking areas, and fuel storage tanks at the air base.
