Indian authorities apprehend two females from Nigeria in possession of cocaine valued at N380 million

A dramatic arrest has taken place in Delhi, India, where two Nigerian women were taken into custody by the Railway Police for allegedly possessing 2.28kg of cocaine valued at approximately Rs20 crore, or around N380m.

The suspects, Chikanso James, 43, and Happiness Okoye, 41, were apprehended during a routine patrol at Platform One of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, sparking a thorough investigation.

Police officers had become wary of the women's behavior, prompting a search under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, which led to the discovery of 11 packets of suspected cocaine on James.

Further examination by the crime team and forensic experts confirmed that the substance was indeed cocaine, shedding light on the gravity of the situation.

Investigations suggest that the seized cocaine was part of a larger interstate drug trafficking network operating between Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, with James allegedly collecting the consignment from Vikaspuri.

Efforts are currently underway to identify other members of the alleged syndicate and unravel its financial and supply networks, as the police continue to investigate the case.

James has been remanded in police custody, while her counterpart, Okoye, has been sent to judicial custody, as the probe continues to unfold.
