Imo Police Commissioner launches freshly established outpost in area rich in petroleum resources

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, officially opened a cutting-edge police post in the Assa community, located in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, with the aim of bolstering policing efforts in this oil-rich region on Tuesday.

This new police outpost was built by Anoh Gas Processing Companies Limited as a demonstration of the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility, with the goal of fostering peace, security, and development within the community.

The facility features an array of modern amenities, including a sleek administrative block, a detention facility, an interrogation room, living quarters for police officers, and advanced electronic devices designed to enhance operational efficiency.

Commissioner Bosso expressed his appreciation to the company for their generous gesture and pledged to deploy a sufficient number of personnel to the new base, while also urging local residents to provide the police with reliable information to aid in their efforts.

Bosso stated, "I extend my deepest gratitude to AGPC for constructing this state-of-the-art facility for the Nigerian Police Force, and I assure you that we will assign adequate personnel to this operational base.

He further appealed to the community, saying, "Please provide us with credible information regarding any suspicious activities, and we assure you that we will work with it to keep you and others safe, remembering that if you see something, you should say something."

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of prominent community leaders and representatives of AGPC Ltd., including Prince Marcel Amadioha, the Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, who thanked the company for prioritizing the security of its host community.

The traditional ruler of Assa, Eze Emmanuel Assor, Odozi Obodo II, also expressed his gratitude for the facility, emphasizing its significance in improving safety and urging local residents to cooperate with the police.

Other notable attendees included Chief Reward Evans, the President General of Assa Autonomous Community, Mrs Elizabeth Oparah, the Vice Chairman of Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Mr Asilonu Utiti, the Chairman of AGPC Host Community Development Board, as well as various palace chiefs and community leaders.
