Immigration honours four retiring senior officers

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Thursday held a grand valedictory session at its headquarters in Abuja to honour four of its most distinguished senior officers who have retired after 35 years of meritorious service to the nation.
nIn a statement posted on its X handle, the service Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja, DCI A.S. Akinlabi, said representing the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Nandap, the Deputy Comptroller-General (Visa and Residency), F.U. Nwanneka, described the retirees as icons of excellence whose contributions had significantly shaped the Service.
nThe celebrated officers are Deputy Comptroller-General (Planning, Research and Statistics) D.M. Bagari, Deputy Comptroller-General (ICT and Cybersecurity) A. Obianime; Deputy Comptroller-General (Border Management) A.R. Sabo, and Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of the Migration Directorate, A.M. Halliday.
n“These officers have demonstrated outstanding leadership, uncommon dedication and made invaluable contributions to the growth and transformation of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
n“On behalf of the Comptroller-General and the entire Service, I convey our profound appreciation for their patriotic and exemplary service,” Nwanneka said.
nShe further wished them well in their next phase of life, stating:
n“We pray that you enjoy a fulfilling retirement, resounding success in your future endeavours, and a peaceful, rewarding post-service life,” she said.
nThe valedictory session was described as a colourful, memorable and emotionally charged celebration of excellence, legacy and selfless service.
nIt drew an impressive gathering of top management, senior officers, family members, friends and well-wishers who came together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the retiring officers and bid them a well-deserved farewell.
