Celtic striker Kelechi Iheanacho is basking in a prolific scoring run for the Scottish Premiership side after netting his fourth goal in six games since returning from injury, helping the club stay in contention for the league title, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Iheanacho, who joined Celtic last summer, has been in fine form, having recently scored his third match-winning goal in the league.

On Sunday, he scored the winner in Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Hibernian, moving the club level on points at the top of the table.

He struck from close range, taking his league tally to four goals in 10 matches and seven in 18 appearances across all competitions.

The 29-year-old expressed his delight after coming off the bench to score the decisive goal.

“I always feel great to come in and help the team get the win, so I’m happy today. The whole team is happy, and especially the fans,” he said.

“It’s really important to stay patient, especially when you’re playing against 10 men.

“It’s really difficult because they sit back and wait for you, so you need patience to move them from side to side to create spaces, and, at the end, we got our reward.

“In the box, you need to be composed, but it was a difficult finish. I wanted to head it at first, but I had a second touch to chest it before getting the shot on target.”

After being sidelined by injury, the Nigerian appears settled and is enjoying his time in Scotland.

“I’m happy that the fans are enjoying every moment, and I’m enjoying it as well.

“We just need to focus on the remaining games and do the job we need to do. Hopefully, we’ll win the trophy.”

Aside from winning the hearts of Celtic fans, the striker is also working his way back into the Super Eagles ahead of June’s international friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

The last time he featured for the national team was during the 2025 Unity Cup in London.
