I didn’t know Ogogo was battling health issues – Peter Fatomilola

Veteran Yoruba actor, Peter Fatomilola, has said he was unaware that fellow actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was battling health challenges before the actor’s daughter made the situation public.

Fatomilola stated this in an upcoming interview with African A-List, also known as AfricanaList, a clip of which was posted on Saturday..

Ogogo’s daughter had earlier appealed publicly for assistance with her father’s health condition before his death.

Speaking about the development, Fatomilola described Ogogo as being like a son to him, stressing that he would have sought the advice of people more knowledgeable than him if he had known about the actor’s condition.

He said, “Taiwo Hassan, In the industry, he is like a son to me. Personally, I can’t say I heard that he had challenges.

“Until recently, when his child spoke out and made things public. Whatever is troubling a person, if it is kept under wraps, by the time it escalates beyond control…”

Fatomilola, who said he did not want to speak extensively about the matter publicly, said people should seek guidance from those with better knowledge whenever they become aware that someone is facing a challenge.

He added, “If we hear that something like this is happening to a person, which I am not aware of, I will inform those who are wiser or more knowledgeable than me.”

The actor subsequently reflected on his own experience, revealing that he had been working on building a house with his late senior wife, Adawole, before her death.

He said the building had reached the lintel level when his wife died.

“Out of all the things I have been pursuing in life that I wish to accomplish, only one thing is left, which my Lord God has not yet approved,” he said.

“ Myself and my most senior wife, Adawole, I said I wanted to build a house. I built it up to the level known as the lintel level. Then my wife passed away.”

Ogogo was buried in Ogun State following his death on August 23.

His death came after reports of health challenges and a public appeal by his daughter for support for his treatment.
