Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has emphasized that talent is insufficient to achieve a lasting and successful career, highlighting the crucial role of discipline and consistency in sustaining long-term success.

In an interview shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the 55-year-old actor drew from his over three decades of experience in the film industry, noting that many individuals mistakenly equate fame with success without grasping the extensive effort required behind the scenes.

Nouah stated, "I've come to know and learn that talent is not enough, discipline is what actually keeps you consistent when inspiration fails you," underscoring the importance of discipline in maintaining consistency.

The actor, who has had a successful career as an actor, director, and producer, observed that many people are blinded by the glamour of fame and overlook the sacrifices involved, only seeing the end result without considering the hard work and dedication that goes into achieving it.

Nouah noted, "A lot of people assume that success is like giving, but it's not, they never see the work, the effort, the doubts and everything behind the scenes," further emphasizing the disparity between perception and reality.

He added, "They usually don't see it, and they always think that when you're famous, you're successful already, that's what it means, that's what it takes," highlighting the misconception that fame and success are synonymous.

When asked about the difficulty of attaining success versus maintaining it, Nouah replied that consistency is more important than achieving success once, as "success is a given, but it can happen just once, consistency is what really matters, consistency."

Nouah stressed that discipline is essential for consistency, saying, "And for you to be consistent, you need discipline," driving home the point that discipline is the key to a lasting and successful career.
