Guidelines for securing a Lagos environmental funding opportunity valued at up to $5,000

Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, took to his X handle to announce the launch of this initiative, urging young people to seize this opportunity to make a meaningful impact on climate action.

The Lagos Youth Climate Action Fund, in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, is calling for bold and innovative projects that will drive climate action and contribute to building a more sustainable and resilient Lagos, with the application process now open.

Eligible youth groups, comprising individuals aged 15 to 24 years, can receive microgrants of $1,000 to $5,000 to implement climate action projects across Lagos State, providing them with the necessary resources to bring their ideas to life.

As part of the application process, interested participants must attend a pre-launch information webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., where they will receive detailed guidance on eligibility, project requirements, and application procedures.

To apply, applicants are required to register for the pre-launch webinar using the official registration link, fill in their first name, last name, and email address, and attend the webinar to receive guidance on the grant application process.

Following the webinar, applicants will need to prepare a youth-led climate action proposal that addresses environmental challenges in Lagos, which will be submitted once the official application portal opens.
