The letter, dated March 23, 2026, contains a clear declaration of Makko's intent to resign from the New Nigeria People’s Party, specifically citing the Gombe State chapter.

Makko's resignation encompasses not only his membership but also his role as state chairman, a position he has now officially relinquished, as indicated in the letter.
