FUPRE announces additional post-UTME screening opportunity for prospective students seeking 2026/2027 enrollment

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, has initiated the registration process for its supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise, slated for the 2026/2027 academic session, thereby offering eligible candidates an additional chance to secure admission into the institution.

This development was announced by the university's Registrar, Dr E. Jane Omoyine, in a statement released to journalists in Warri on Monday, which outlined the details of the supplementary screening exercise.

The supplementary screening exercise is specifically designed for candidates who were unable to participate in the initial Post-UTME screening exercise, which took place from July 21 to 25, 2026, as well as those seeking to switch their institution of choice to FUPRE and participate in its admission process.

According to the university, the registration period for the supplementary screening exercise will come to a close on Sunday, August 23, while the exercise itself is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Eligible candidates are required to complete their registration through the university's admission portal, https://utme.fupre.edu.ng, and pay a screening fee of ₦2,000, as part of the registration process.

To be eligible for the exercise, candidates must have achieved a minimum score of 160 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, and must have selected FUPRE as their first-choice institution or completed the necessary Change of Institution process.

Candidates must also possess at least five relevant O'Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, and be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026, with recognised O'Level examinations including SSCE, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB.

The university has clarified that the purpose of the supplementary exercise is to provide prospective students with an additional opportunity to pursue admission into FUPRE, thereby allowing them to pursue their academic aspirations at a university focused on preparing graduates for the demands of a rapidly changing global economy.

The university has also stated that candidates who participated in the initial Post-UTME screening exercise, held from July 21 to 25, are not required to take part in the supplementary exercise, and has urged eligible candidates to complete their registration well in advance of the deadline.
