Funeral plans for deceased Oyo king finalized
The Olubadan Advisory Council has given its seal of approval to the plans for laying the late Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Olubunmi Isioye-Dada, to rest.
nA statement issued on Monday by Chief Gbenga Ayoade, the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, confirmed the development, which was reached after a meeting at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
nThe statement outlined the burial schedule, revealing that the ceremony will be held on August 27 and 28, 2026, at the late monarch's residence in Bodija, Ibadan.
nOba Isioye-Dada served as the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland until his passing on June 12, 2026, and was a committed and active member of the Olubadan-in-Council.
nThe statement concluded with a message of condolence, expressing the hope that Oba Isioye-Dada's soul will continue to rest in perfect peace.
nIt is reported that the monarch's death occurred following a brief illness in June 2026.
