Fubara offers condolences to former Rivers State governor Amaechi following the passing of his mother

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has offered his sincerest condolences to Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of the state, following the passing of his mother, Dame Ezinne Amaechi.

In a message of condolence issued on behalf of the government and people of Rivers State, Fubara conveyed his deep sympathy to the former governor, lamenting the loss of his mother as an irreparable blow to the immediate family, the Catholic faithful, the Ubima community, and the entire state.

This condolence message was made public in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Onwuka Nzeshi.

Fubara acknowledged the profound pain of losing a mother, and he urged Amaechi and his family to find comfort in the virtuous life Mama led and the lasting legacy she left behind.

The governor recognized the significant role Mama played in molding the character and values of her family and the broader community, and he prayed for God's solace to be with the entire family during this challenging time and for the soul of the departed matriarch to rest eternally.

Since the passing of the former governor's mother, numerous prominent Nigerians, including President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, have extended their condolences to Amaechi.

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, is currently the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 general elections.
