France's pursuit of a third World Cup title resumes on Thursday with a highly anticipated matchup against Morocco, marking the beginning of the quarter-final stage, which features a star-studded lineup of teams.

The tournament, which has been the largest and most complex World Cup to date, has been narrowed down to eight teams after a month of thrilling action that initially raised concerns over high ticket prices and geopolitical tensions.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi expressed relief after the victory over Egypt, stating, "We wanted to stay in the tournament, we didn’t want today to be the end, we didn’t want to go home."

The winner of the Argentina-Switzerland matchup will face either Norway or England in the semi-finals in Atlanta next week.
