Former coach endorses Osimhen and Uzun strike duo at Galatasaray

Christian Martin, a former coach, has expressed his belief that Can Uzun would form a highly effective partnership with Victor Osimhen if Galatasaray successfully sign the midfielder from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
nGalatasaray have been actively pursuing Uzun as part of their efforts to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, with ongoing negotiations with Frankfurt still underway.
nMartin thinks that a move to Rams Park could significantly accelerate Uzun's development, particularly given the young Turkish international's creative abilities, which could complement Osimhen's pace, physicality, and movement in attack.
nUzun has a unique ability to play in the gaps between the opponent's midfield and defence, and his vision and final-pass ability make him a highly effective player who could thrive alongside a dynamic and physically strong striker like Osimhen.
nMartin noted that Uzun's ability to draw defenders towards him and deliver accurate passes would be an excellent complement to a strong centre-forward, and the two could form a very dangerous partnership, with one creating opportunities for the other to exploit, as he told Türkiye Gazetesi.
nWhile their rivals have been busy strengthening their squads, Galatasaray have had a relatively slow start to the transfer window, with only the loan signing of Lesley Ugochukwu completed so far.
nUzun has emerged as one of Galatasaray's primary targets, with the Turkish champions having pursued the Frankfurt midfielder for several months, and recent reports suggest they have made progress in their efforts to sign the player.
nHowever, Frankfurt's valuation remains a significant obstacle, with the German club reportedly opening negotiations at around €60m, while Galatasaray are seeking a lower fee.
nReports have suggested that Galatasaray could structure a deal worth €35m plus a further €5m in bonuses, which would bring Uzun to the club and provide another creative option around Osimhen.
nThe Nigeria striker is expected to remain a central figure in Galatasaray's plans for the new campaign, and the prospect of Uzun and Osimhen combining in attack has added to the excitement surrounding the Turkish club's pursuit of the 20-year-old.
