A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, has urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure more balanced governance and equitable national development across the country.

In a statement on Monday, Frank criticised what he described as the concentration of government activities and investments in Lagos, calling for a more inclusive approach that reflects the interests of all regions.

Since assuming office in May 2023, Tinubu has faced allegations of uneven appointments and distribution of development projects, though the Presidency has consistently denied the claims.

Frank said Nigeria requires leadership that promotes fairness and guarantees equal access to opportunities and infrastructure.

“We don’t need a president who is one-sided, but one who ensures equitable distribution of opportunities, infrastructure, and governance,” he said.

He also called for a broader spread in federal appointments and development initiatives to strengthen national unity.

“There is a need for broader national spread in federal appointments and development initiatives… this is to strengthen unity through inclusive governance,” he added.

Frank further urged the Federal Government to prioritise key sectors such as agriculture, industrialisation, and oil and gas development across regions, stressing that balanced economic growth is vital for stability.

On foreign loans and international agreements, he emphasised the need for transparency and accountability, noting that Nigerians must see tangible benefits from such deals.

He also urged that major infrastructure projects, including the Coastal Highway, should align with long-term national development plans.

Frank called on citizens to remain engaged in governance by monitoring policies and holding leaders accountable, while urging institutions to safeguard national interests, equity, and sovereignty.
