Footage shows Pope Leo holding talks with Nigerian church leaders in the Vatican

A gathering of bishops from Nigeria took place at the Apostolic Palace, where they met with Pope Leo XIV as part of their Ad Limina Apostolorum visit to Rome.
nThis traditional pilgrimage brings Catholic bishops to Rome to discuss the pastoral situation and challenges faced by their dioceses, and to meet with the Pope, in this case, Pope Leo XIV.
nA video of the meeting was shared by Vatican News on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday, showing the Pope receiving the members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria.
nThe Ad Limina Apostolorum visit is a significant event in which bishops travel to Rome to report on the state of their dioceses and meet with the Pope, a tradition that was upheld during the visit of the Nigerian bishops.
nPope Leo XIV's election took place on May 8, 2025, and he was inaugurated just ten days later, on May 18, 2025.
