Footage shows dramatic rescue of trio of pupils trapped in collapsed dormitory in Anambra

A rescue operation was initiated on Monday by police and other emergency responders following the collapse of a three-storey student hostel, known as Elite Five Star Lodge, in Amokpala, near the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State, which occurred on Sunday night.

The emergency teams, comprising the state fire service, State Emergency Authority, and other relevant agencies, have managed to rescue some victims trapped under the rubble, with authorities still searching for others who are feared to be trapped.

As the search efforts continue, a total of three victims have been rescued from the rubble as of the time of this report, and are currently undergoing medical treatment at St. Michael Hospital, Oko.

Officials have not yet confirmed the number of casualties, while investigations into the cause of the collapse are ongoing, with rescue operations still in progress.
