Footage reveals plans for Agege to receive a brand-new park and leisure facility, according to local government head

The Chairman of Agege Local Government of Lagos State, Abdulganiyu Obasa, has announced plans for the development of a park and recreation centre in the council area.

Obasa disclosed this in a video shared on X on Thursday, where he inspected the proposed site of the Agege Park and Recreation Centre on Akilo Road.

According to him, the project is aimed at providing residents with a recreational space while improving their quality of life.

“I inspected the ongoing development of the Agege Park and Recreation Centre on Akilo Road, and this is one project I’m particularly excited about,” he wrote.

He said the initiative goes beyond road construction and other physical infrastructure.

n

“Development is not just about fixing roads and putting up buildings. People deserve places to relax. Children deserve spaces to play. Families deserve somewhere to create memories,” he said.

Obasa added that the facility would provide residents with a place to unwind, socialise and spend time with their families.

n

“We are creating a space where the people of Agege can play, unwind, connect and enjoy their community,” he stated.

Expressing optimism about the project, the council chairman said he hoped residents would embrace the development when completed.

n

“And when this is completed, I want every resident to look around and say: ‘Yes. This is the Agege we deserve.’ The vision is bigger than infrastructure. We are building a better way of living,” he added.
