Fatalities reported as bus accident in Portugal leaves 20 hurt and claims two lives

Two people were killed, and 20 others were injured, three of them seriously, in a bus crash in the suburbs of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, police said.
n“The two victims were waiting for the bus when they were struck,” the police chief of the western area of Sintra, Francisco Alves, told local media.
nThe emergency services said they were both women, aged 30 and 40.
nRescue services and psychological support were sent to the scene.
nPrime Minister Luis Montenegro said he reacted with “great dismay” to news of the accident and extended his condolences to the victims’ families.
n“To the injured, my wishes for a swift and full recovery,” he wrote on X.
