Ex-Nigerian striker cautions Osimhen over potential Manchester United transfer

As the summer transfer window draws near, former Super Eagles midfielder Osaze Odemwingie has cautioned Victor Osimhen against making a move to Manchester United, citing the immense pressure on strikers at Old Trafford as a significant risk. The pressure, according to Odemwingie, is too damaging to warrant consideration.

Odemwingie, who has played for several Premier League clubs including Stoke City, Cardiff City, and West Bromwich Albion, believes that Manchester United's massive size and expectation create a daunting environment for any forward, making it a perilous destination.

He pointed to the experiences of Romelu Lukaku and other strikers who have played for the club, noting that the pressure to deliver results often leads to scapegoating, and advised Osimhen to steer clear of such an environment.

Instead, Odemwingie suggested that Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid would be more suitable destinations for the Galatasaray striker, given their reputation as mature clubs that can provide a more conducive environment for growth.

Odemwingie expressed his fondness for Arsenal, citing it as his father's team, and also praised Barcelona and Real Madrid as great options for Osimhen, highlighting their ability to nurture talent and provide a platform for success.

He also highlighted Osimhen's physical attributes, which he believes make him well-suited to the demands of European football's biggest stages, including his ability to control the ball, demand possession, and excel in aerial duels.

Odemwingie noted that Real Madrid's wide pitch, in particular, would be an ideal fit for Osimhen's playing style, given his height advantage and ability to make effective runs.

He urged Osimhen to prioritize his own ambitions and make a move at the peak of his career, rather than being swayed by the interests of others, and to consider his own goals and aspirations when making a decision.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has had a remarkable season, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in 21 league games, as well as adding seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League matches.

Despite Galatasaray's recent 4-1 defeat to Samsunspor, which dashed their hopes of clinching the Süper Lig title, Osimhen remains confident that the team can still seal the championship at home against Antalyaspor.
