Ex-Chelsea player Azpilicueta graduates with merit in global football sport directorship

Former Chelsea defender César Azpilicueta has celebrated a significant milestone away from the pitch after graduating with Merit in Global Football Sport Directorship.

In a post on his Facebook account on Wednesday, the former Chelsea captain marked the occasion alongside the PFA Business School Class of 2026, reflecting on the hard work that went into completing the programme and the people who supported him throughout the journey.

Describing the graduation as a particularly meaningful occasion, Azpilicueta said:
n“It was really special to celebrate graduating with Merit in Global Football Sport Directorship.”n

The event provided an opportunity for Azpilicueta to celebrate with classmates and reconnect with people he had met during his studies.

“A fantastic day to celebrate the hard work, catch up with old and new faces, and look ahead to what comes next,” he added.

The qualification represents another stage in Azpilicueta’s development within football, expanding his experience from leadership on the pitch into the wider areas of football management and sporting direction.
