3. Police rescue two Colombian women held captive in Lagos

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force INTERPOL Lagos Annex have rescued two Colombian nationals, Maria Camila Rodas Ortiz and Yuliet Fernanda Rios Mesa, who were allegedly lured to Nigeria and held against their will.

The suspects, said to be Chinese nationals, fled when police approached. The Colombian Embassy is collaborating on their safe return.

4. Adeleke issues executive order, sets up panel over Osun killings

Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued an executive order establishing a coroner inquest panel into the killings and violence at Naira and Kobo Junction, Ikire, on August 24.

The panel, headed by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola, will examine the role of security operatives and may recommend prosecution or compensation. It is expected to submit its report within 30 days of sitting.
