EPL: Man United put historic Old Trafford Turf up for sale – Report

Manchester United have put pieces of the historic Old Trafford pitch up for sale, with each 7x7cm section priced at £125 as reported by BBC Sport on Thursday.

The first batch of the turf, preserved inside glass cubes and presented in a black case, has already sold out.

The initiative comes as United reported that their overall debt remains above £1bn.

The club recorded record revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for the 2025-26 financial year, although they still posted a pre-tax loss of £43m.

United also confirmed that £63.5m had been spent on acquiring land for a new stadium, with the proposed project expected to cost more than £2bn.

The Old Trafford pitch was dug up this summer for the first time in 14 years and stripped back to its foundation.

Sections of the turf were preserved as memorabilia for supporters.

The club describes the glass cubes as a “priceless memento” of iconic games played at Old Trafford and a way of keeping matchday memories alive.

The sale offers supporters the chance to own a small piece of the ground that has hosted generations of Manchester United players and some of the club’s most memorable matches.
