Enthusiast suggests including Tinubu in Yoruba trivia, petitions Masoyinbo to make it happen

Olalekan Fabilola, the brain behind the Yoruba language quiz show Masoyinbo, has dropped a hint that President Bola Tinubu might make an appearance on the programme, after a fan requested that he feature the Nigerian leader.

Fabilola, also known as “Ọlálékàn,” took to his X handle on Saturday to share the request, revealing that he receives around 20 similar messages daily, and responded by saying "I get message like this every day, at least 20 a day — nothing is impossible.

His post included a screenshot of the fan's message, which read “Oluko, e jowo e ba wa gbe President Bola Tinubu wa si Masoyinbo,” translating to “Teacher, please bring President Bola Tinubu to Masoyinbo.”

Although Fabilola stopped short of confirming whether Tinubu would indeed appear on the show, his cryptic response sparked a flurry of reactions from followers, with many interpreting it as a sign that the invitation could be on the cards.

Masoyinbo, which roughly translates to “Don’t Speak English,” is a Yoruba language game show created and hosted by Fabilola to promote and preserve the Yoruba language and culture, challenging contestants to answer 10 questions entirely in Yoruba.

Successful participants stand a chance of winning a cash prize, and the show has already featured several prominent Nigerians, including actress Funke Akindele, rapper Falz, and comedian Ali Baba.

Other notable guests have included actors Femi Adebayo and Lateef Adedimeji, as well as Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, with the show being broadcast on various platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.

In addition to these platforms, Masoyinbo is also available on Instagram and DStv, where it has gained a significant following for its unique blend of entertainment and cultural preservation.
