Doma United Claims Victory Over Inter Lagos Thanks to Fantami's Decisive Header in NNL Super 4 Clash

Yusuf Fantami's 19th-minute goal proved to be the difference as Doma United edged out Inter Lagos 1-0 in a thrilling Nigeria National League Super 4 match at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday night.
nThe encounter, played under floodlights, was marked by intense physical battles and late drama, with both teams showcasing the quality that earned them promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
nDoma United's decisive moment came when they launched a well-coordinated attack that broke through Inter Lagos' defence, allowing Fantami to rise highest and head home with precision.
nInter Lagos responded with attacking intent, and the match became an end-to-end contest, but neither side was able to add to the scoreline as defensive organisation proved crucial.
nThe game took a dramatic turn in the closing stages when tensions escalated on the pitch, resulting in the dismissal of Inter Lagos' Damilare Adigun in the 82nd minute for an elbow, and Doma United's Kennedy Osemudiamen shortly afterwards for unsporting behaviour.
nDespite finishing the match with 10 men each, Doma United remained composed to secure a hard-fought victory, moving level on points with Sporting Lagos, who had earlier defeated Ranchers Bees in the opening fixture.
nAdams Simbad was named Man of the Match after a influential performance, controlling play and contributing significantly to his side's success from defence, and he expressed his satisfaction with both the award and the team's result.
nSimbad emphasised the team's ambition to win the tournament, stating, "Words cannot express how happy I am to pick up this award, but the most important thing is the victory we achieved today, we are here in Ikenne to win the title, and we will keep pushing to make that happen."
nAll four teams in the Super 4 have already secured promotion to the top flight of the NPFL, but the competition continues to determine the overall champions, with Doma United's victory setting up a closely contested race for the title.
nAction will continue on matchday two of the round-robin tournament at the Remo Stars Stadium on Wednesday, with Inter Lagos facing Ranchers Bees in the opening fixture, and Doma United locking horns with Sporting Lagos in a bid to move a step closer to the second-tier title.
