DEVELOPING: Kano NDC gubernatorial hopeful selects son of Kwankwaso as deputy candidate

Aminu Gwarzo, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Kano State, has chosen Mustapha Kwankwaso as his running mate for the upcoming 2027 governorship election. This decision was confirmed by Gwarzo's spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, on Monday.

nAccording to Ibrahim Shuaibu, Mustapha Kwankwaso is a dedicated party member whose appointment will help to further solidify the party's support base across Kano State.
nGwarzo's spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, stated that Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the governorship candidate, has officially selected Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election in Kano State.
nThe choice of Mustapha Kwankwaso reflects the party's dedication to the principles of unity, inclusiveness, and effective representation, as noted by Shuaibu.
nMustapha Kwankwaso is the son of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former Governor of Kano State.
nHis selection is anticipated to enhance the influence of the Kwankwasiyya movement within the NDC, as the party gears up for the 2027 elections.
