Deputy Women Leader of Yobe APC Passes Away

Fatima Mairiga, the Deputy Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe State, has passed away following a brief illness, with her death occurring on Saturday in Kano where she was receiving medical treatment.

Mairiga's death was confirmed in a statement by Hussaini Suleh, Press Secretary to the Yobe State Deputy Governor, who expressed that her passing is a significant loss to the APC family in the state.

The statement from Suleh revealed that Mairiga died after a brief illness, with the exact nature of her illness not disclosed, and her death has sent shockwaves of mourning among her family, political associates, and supporters.

A statement announcing her death read, "The death has occurred of Hajiya Fatima Mairiga, Yobe State APC Deputy Women Leader, today in Kano after a brief illness," and funeral prayers for the deceased are scheduled to be held in Damaturu.

The funeral prayers will take place on Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre, Damaturu, Yobe State, and she will be buried immediately after the prayers in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Sympathisers, party faithful, government officials, relatives, and well-wishers are expected to attend the funeral and pay their last respects to the deceased, with the Deputy Governor's spokesman praying for her soul, saying, "May Allah forgive her shortcomings and admit her into Aljannatul Firdausi."

Mairiga played a crucial role in the APC as the Deputy Women Leader in Yobe State, where she worked to mobilise women and strengthen grassroots support for the ruling party across the state.
