Deputy Leader of Justice Forum Endorses Lagos Lawmaker's Quest for Fourth Term

The Vice Chairman of the Justice Forum and Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Igbogbo Bayeku Local Government Development Area of Lagos State, Mrs Ibiyemi Sanni, has denied reports that she is opposing the fourth-term ambition of the lawmaker representing the area, Babajimi Benson.

Sanni stated this in a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday.

She stated, “I fully support Hon. Babajimi Benson for another term. Attempts to use my name to fuel tension within our constituency and the Justice Forum are mischievous and condemnable.

“Democracy guarantees the right to aspire and the right of constituents to choose. Reducing that choice through false attributions and manufactured discontent does a disservice to our people.”

Sanni called on party members and stakeholders in Igbogbo/Baiyeku to disregard the claims and continue supporting Benson, whom she credited with visible impact since 2015, including road construction, a Smart Police Station, and an 80-bed Mother and Child Hospital in Imota.

“I also urge the public, party members, and stakeholders in Igbogbo/Baiyeku to disregard the false claims and continue supporting Hon. Babajimi Benson for sustained progress.

“I remain committed to the unity of the Justice Forum, the APC, and the continued development of Ikorodu Federal Constituency,” she said.

Benson, who currently chairs the House Committee on Defence, is serving his third consecutive term in the House of Representatives, having first been elected in 2015 and subsequently re-elected in 2019 and 2023.
