Davido Laments Global Chaos, Bemoans Fuel Shortage

Davido, a Grammy-nominated singer, has offered an apology to his fans for missing a scheduled performance in Lagos, citing difficulties in obtaining aviation fuel as the reason for his absence.

The artiste, also known as David Adeleke, was set to perform alongside Zlatan Ibile at the Secret Place club in Ikate Elegushi on Sunday, as part of the club's fifth anniversary celebration.

However, his failure to appear prompted a reaction from the fans who had gathered for the event, leaving them disappointed and awaiting an explanation.

In a post on his Instagram story on Monday, Davido explained that his travel plans were disrupted by logistical challenges related to fuel shortages, which forced him to reschedule his appearance.

He stated, "The world happened to me yesterday, these wars around the world have really started penetrating, finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly, everything had to be rescheduled,” highlighting the impact of global events on his plans.

Davido apologised to the fans who attended the show, promising to make it up to them and expressing his regret for missing the event.

He assured his fans, "To my fans that pulled up… sorry I missed it, we’re going to run it back again soon,” indicating that he would reschedule his performance for a later date.

The incident occurs amidst global concerns over fuel supply disruptions, particularly in the aviation sector, where rising costs and shortages are affecting flight schedules in several regions.

Davido also took the opportunity to congratulate the organisers of the event, reiterating his support and promising to appear at a future date.
