Cyclist killed, two hurt in Ogun road accident involving three-wheeler vehicle

A fatal accident occurred on Sango-Ijoko Road on Friday night, involving a tricycle and a Howo truck, which resulted in the death of the tricycle rider, as reported by the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.

The incident was disclosed by Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Public Relations Officer of TRACE, in a statement released to newsmen on Saturday in Ota, where he also revealed that two male persons were injured in the accident.

According to Akinbiyi, an eyewitness attributed the cause of the accident to poor visibility at Alasia Bus Stop, specifically on the inbound lane of Sango-Ijoko Road.

The corpse of the deceased has been taken to Ifo General Hospital, while the injured survivors were transported to a different hospital for medical attention, as stated by Akinbiyi.

As part of the accident's aftermath, Akinbiyi noted that both the tricycle and the truck were towed away from the scene to facilitate smoother traffic flow in the area.

Akinbiyi took the opportunity to caution drivers, urging them to practice patience and avoid reckless driving in order to prevent unnecessary crashes.
