C&S church names new leader

The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, has appointed Pastor Gabriel Kassim as its new spiritual father.

The appointment was announced by the Board of Trustees of the church at an extraordinary meeting held on Thursday at His Grace Vicarage, Galilee, Oyo State.

A statement issued by the Conference Secretary-General of the church, Anthony Samaye, obtained by The PUNCH, said the appointment followed the death of the former Spiritual Father, Prophet Emmanuel Alogbo.

Kassim, who is the Chairman of the church’s New York District, was appointed in an acting capacity.

Samaye called on members of the church to give Kassim the necessary support, cooperation and respect as he assumes the responsibility.

He also urged members to remain united in prayer and continue to uphold the leadership and work of God.

The statement read, “The Board of Trustees of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Ayo Ni O, at its Extraordinary Meeting held on Thursday, 20 August 2026, at His Grace Vicarage, Galilee, Oyo State, announced the appointment of Most Senior Special Apostle Pastor Gabriel O. Kassim, Chairman, New York District, as the Acting Spiritual Father of the Church with immediate effect.”

Samaye further urged members to remain committed to the unity of the church and support its leadership during the transition.

The appointment comes weeks after the death of Alogbo, who served as the Spiritual Father of the church until his demise.

Alogbo died on July 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
