Complete Roll of Honorees Unveiled as AMVCA 2026 Takes Place in Lagos

The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is now in full swing at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, where the ceremony kicked off at 7 p.m. on Saturday to honour exceptional achievements in African film, television, and digital storytelling.

The awards ceremony is being broadcast live on all Africa Magic channels available on DStv and GOtv, as well as streamed online via DStv Stream and GOtv Stream, allowing a wide audience to tune in.

The updated list of winners and nominees has been released, with the first category being BEST COSTUME DESIGN, which was awarded to “Colours of Fire” – Valerie Okeke, who took the top spot.

The other nominees for BEST COSTUME DESIGN included “The Serpent’s Gift” – Mary Chukuma, “The Real Housewives of Lagos (S3)” – Deola Art Alade, Darey Art Alade, “Something About The Briggs” – Yolanda Okereke, and “To Kill a Monkey” – Ikechukwu Urum, John Joseph Angel.

The winner of the BEST MAKEUP category was “Warlord” – Hakeem Onilogbo, who received the award for outstanding makeup.

The other nominees for BEST MAKEUP were “Behind The Scenes” – Mojisola Imam, “Lisabi (A Legend Is Born)” – Adeola Thelma Bamgboye, “Gingerrr” – Diablaq Artistry, “Abanisete” – Adeola Thelma Bamgboye, “Suky” – Ruth Harcourt, and “Labake Olododo” – Adeola Thelma Bamgboye.

The BEST SOUND/SOUND DESIGN award went to “My Father’s Shadow” – Pius Fatoke, CJ Mirra, who were recognized for their exceptional work in sound design.

The nominees for BEST SOUND/SOUND DESIGN also included “Gingerrr” – Tolu Obanro, “Ben Made It” – Vaughan Phillips, “The Party” – Tolu Obanro, “Sebata (The Beast)” – Vaughan Phillips, and “The Herd” – Fisayo Adefolaju.

In the category of BEST WRITING – TV SERIES, the award was given to “MTV Shuga Mashariki” – Annette Shadeya, Natasha Likimani, Mkamzee Mwatela, Arnold Mwanjila, Makgano Mamabolo, for their outstanding writing.

The other nominees for BEST WRITING – TV SERIES were “The Wives” – Donald Tombia, Timendu Aghahowa, Chiemeka Osuagwu, “Our Husband” – Xavier Ighorodje, “Addis Fikir” – Besufekade Mulu, “Baba OH” – Temilola Balogun, “The Party” – Stephen Okonkwo, and “Gizat” – Yednekachew Ayne.
