Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Tram has denied owing ₦400m in damages linked to a 2024 car crash. He said the vehicles involved belonged to a friend who was also injured in the accident, not rented cars as he had earlier claimed.

The reality TV star made the clarification in an interview clip that went viral on Monday, a day after he was unveiled as one of the new housemates on the show’s premiere.

An old video of a high-speed crash involving a 2022 Corvette Stingray and a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee resurfaced online almost immediately after Tram’s introduction on Sunday night.

Asked directly in the viral clip if he owed ₦400m, Tram denied it.

“First off, no, I do not owe 400 million. Obviously, I would probably not be this chill if I was owing 400 million,” he said.

He confirmed the accident but insisted it was unplanned.

“So, in 2024, I was involved in a car accident, a viral car accident. Obviously, the car accident happened. It wasn’t planned. It’s not like we planned to have an accident that day. Life happens. But thank God no one died,” he said.

Tram appeared irritated that public attention had centred on the wreckage rather than the fact that lives were spared. “Everyone is concerned about the car and whatever happened. No one died in that accident,” he said.

He also walked back an earlier claim that the vehicles were rented.

“None of the cars were rented. The car actually belongs to a friend of mine, and he was also involved in the accident.

“This is a part that social media doesn’t even understand,” he said, adding that he was “not allowed to speak on certain things” regarding the matter.

Reflecting on the crash, Tram described it as a life-changing moment.

“My experience that day, crazy. I had a conversation with God in that moment,” he said.

The accident happened on September 14, 2024, when the Corvette Tram was driving lost control during the race, collided with the Jeep, and slammed into a concrete pole.

Videos from the scene showed extensive damage, with the Corvette left heavily wrecked.

No fatalities were recorded, but Tram sustained head and jaw injuries, back pain and facial bruising.

He was hospitalised and later said he battled flashbacks and sleeplessness because of the pain.

Days after the crash, Tram had taken to Instagram to appeal for public support, citing damages exceeding ₦400m from write-offs, hospital bills and property damage. He described the vehicles at the time as rented.

The appeal drew mixed reactions, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy over his survival while others criticised him for reckless street racing and for soliciting public donations.

His latest comments, which contradict his 2024 account, have reignited scepticism online, with social media users questioning the inconsistency between his current denial and his earlier appeal for funds.
