Bauchi First Lady unveils N80m empowerment package for women

The wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Aisha Mohammed, has unveiled an empowerment package worth over N80m to support women across the state.

The First Lady also distributed bags of cassava to women as part of the intervention aimed at improving their livelihoods and strengthening household incomes.

This was disclosed on Sunday in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the First Lady, Zainab Garba, on the sidelines of the distribution event.

Garba said the initiative reaffirmed the First Lady’s commitment to improving the lives of women across Bauchi State through practical interventions designed to promote economic independence.

The statement partly read, “The First Lady has reaffirmed her commitment to improving the lives of women across the state through a fresh empowerment initiative worth over N80m, alongside the distribution of bags of cassava.

“The support is aimed at helping women strengthen their businesses, improve household income and become more economically self-reliant.”

According to the statement, the intervention reflects the First Lady’s continued focus on initiatives that promote women’s welfare, dignity and economic independence at the grassroots.

The statement also disclosed that the APM governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu, donated N5m to women from the 20 local government areas of the state to assist with transportation and facilitate their return to their respective communities.

Garba said both interventions underscored the importance of supporting women as key contributors to families, communities and the overall development of Bauchi State.
