Barcelona completes transfer of 19-year-old Bisiwu from Belgian side Club Brugge in $10 million deal

Barcelona has finalized the signing of 18-year-old Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge, with the transfer reportedly valued at 8.5 million euros ($10 million), as announced on Friday.

The Catalan club confirmed the agreement in a statement, revealing that Bisiwu will remain with the team until 30 June 2031, as he becomes the latest addition to the Spanish champions' roster.

Bisiwu's arrival at Barcelona follows the recent signings of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, further bolstering the club's lineup for the upcoming season.

As one of Belgium's most promising young players, Bisiwu brings his exceptional skills to the Catalan club, with Barcelona praising his impressive pace, strength, and dribbling ability, which are expected to serve him well in his future career.

Born on January 22, 2008, Bisiwu has already made a name for himself in Belgian youth football, consistently delivering strong performances for the national teams and rising to prominence during the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

His outstanding display at the 2025 UEFA European Under-17 Championship earned him a spot in the tournament's Best XI, after helping Belgium reach the semi-finals and solidifying his position as a top young prospect.

Bisiwu's football career began at OH Leuven, before he joined Club Brugge's academy in 2020, where he spent several years honing his skills and eventually making 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring three goals.

In addition to his youth league experience, Bisiwu also gained valuable senior experience with Club NXT, Club Brugge's reserve side, making his Belgian Second Division debut in 2023 at the remarkable age of 15.

Over the course of his time with Club NXT, Bisiwu made a total of 36 appearances for the team, amassing significant experience before ultimately sealing his move to Barcelona.

Although he did not have the opportunity to feature for Club Brugge's first team, it is expected that Bisiwu will begin his Barcelona career with the club's reserve side, allowing him to continue his development in a supportive environment.
