Bala Mohammed sacks two members of his cabinet

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reshuffled the State Executive Council with two commissioners exiting the cabinet and the resignation of one other.

Bala has also forwarded new commissioner nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the exercise was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

According to Gidado, the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Gamawa, and the immediate past Commissioner for Education, Dr Lawal Zayam, who was later redeployed to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology, have exited the cabinet with immediate effect.

He added that the governor had also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Faruk Mustapha.

“In line with the administration’s commitment to ensuring continuity and efficiency in governance, the names of their proposed replacements, alongside those of other nominees intended to fill vacancies created by the earlier exit of some commissioners, have been forwarded to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation,” the statement read.

The governor’s aide said Mohammed expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, commitment and contributions to the development of Bauchi State during their time in office.

He added that the governor wished them success in their future endeavours and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more responsive, effective and results-oriented government for the benefit of the people of the state.
