Authorities in Delta apprehend trio of females, confiscate illicit substances including codeine and laughing gas

The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of three female suspects in a coordinated raid on a suspected drug hideout in Warri metropolis, where large quantities of illicit substances, including Canadian Loud, codeine, and nitrous oxide, were recovered.

This operation was carried out on May 7, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m. by operatives of the Area Command, Effurun, following credible intelligence, and reportedly targeted suspected drug peddlers operating within Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities in Warri.

The suspects arrested include a 25-year-old suspected drug baron, Favor Isaac, alongside two female accomplices, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe.

A search conducted at the suspects' hideout led to the recovery of 21 bottles of CSC Codeine, two canisters of nitrous oxide, two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded "Highness Gum," and 640 grams of suspected Canadian Loud.

The operation involved the execution of a search warrant at the suspects' hideout located along River Road, Ogbomoro community, where these illicit substances were found concealed in different bags and containers.

Preliminary investigation has linked a fleeing suspect, Rukewe Tega Isaac, as the alleged mastermind and major supplier behind the drug network, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the suspect and dismantle the wider syndicate.
