Atiku celebrates Yoruba Ronu leader Malaolu on 70th birthday

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has congratulated public affairs analyst and President of the Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, Chief Akin Malaolu, on his 70th birthday, commending his contributions to national discourse and democratic development.

Atiku conveyed the goodwill message in a statement posted on his official X handle on Sunday, where he praised Malaolu’s patriotism and commitment to advancing Nigeria’s national interest.

“On behalf of my family and associates, I celebrate Chief Akin Malaolu on his 70th birthday,” the former vice president’s statement partly read.

He acknowledged Malaolu’s role as a respected public affairs analyst and leader of the Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, describing him as a voice that has consistently contributed to conversations on national development.

“I wish to acknowledge that, as a public affairs analyst and the President of the Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum (YRLF), a socio-political group, you have continually enriched public discourse on how to advance our national interest,” Atiku continued.

The former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate further commended the septuagenarian for prioritising Nigeria’s collective interest above sectional considerations.

“As a patriot, you have allowed yourself to be guided by national rather than sectional interest for the greater good of Nigerians,” he added.

Atiku also prayed for Malaolu’s continued service to the country, expressing hope that greater contributions to democracy and good governance would mark the next phase of his life.

“It is my prayer that the next chapter of your life will be marked by even greater commitment and service to the cause of democracy and good governance,” he concluded.

Malaolu is the President of the Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, a socio-political organisation that frequently comments on national issues, governance and democratic development.
