Asisat Oshoala nets three goals to propel Al Hilal into the Saudi Women's Cup championship match

Asisat Oshoala produced another scintillating display on Thursday, scoring a hat-trick to inspire Al Hilal Women to a commanding 5-1 victory over Al Qadsiah Women and seal qualification for the Saudi Women’s Cup final with a 7-2 aggregate win.

The six-time African Player of the Year struck twice in the first half before completing her hat-trick after the break in another dominant attacking performance. She also won a late penalty as Al Hilal overwhelmed their opponents away from home.

Oshoala has now registered 23 goals and six assists in all competitions this season.

The Nigerian forward has also scored in four consecutive matches and recorded at least one goal contribution in each of her last six games, replicating her form in Europe in Saudi Arabia.

Carrying a 2-1 advantage into the second leg, Al Hilal wasted little time asserting its dominance, with Oshoala once again at the heart of its attacking moves.

The striker opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a brilliant right-footed strike from outside the penalty area after being set up by Kheira Hamraoui.

Just two minutes later, Jéssica Silva doubled the lead after racing onto a through ball from Al Bandari Mobarak during a swift counter-attack.

Ajara Nchout reduced the deficit for Al Qadsiah in the 42nd minute, but Oshoala restored Al Hilal’s two-goal cushion moments later, finishing off another fast break to make it 3-1 before half-time.

The Nigerian completed her hat-trick in the 73rd minute, calmly slotting home from the left side of the box after another assist from Al Bandari Mobarak.

Oshoala remained influential until the closing stages and won a penalty in the 89th minute after being fouled inside the area. Ghizlane Chebbak converted from the spot in stoppage time to complete the emphatic victory.

Al Hilal will now face either Al Ula Women or Al Nassr Women in the final as they continue their pursuit of silverware this season.

The club had earlier finished runners-up in the Saudi Women’s Premier Challenge Cup, a campaign in which Oshoala scored back-to-back hat-tricks on their run to the final.

Oshoala joined the Saudi club on a two-year deal in the summer of 2025 from the National Women’s Soccer League side, Bay FC.
