APM poised to stun APC in 2027 election, predicts Ondo senatorial hopeful

Sunday Falae, the Allied Peoples Movement's candidate for the Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State, has made a bold declaration that his party will emerge victorious over the ruling All Progressives Congress in the district during the 2027 general election.

Falae's assertion is rooted in his belief that the senatorial district deserves more effective representation at the National Assembly, and he accuses the APC of failing to make a significant positive impact on the lives of residents, particularly those in Akure, the state capital.

This statement was made by Falae during an interview with a correspondent in Akure on Sunday, where he expressed his thoughts on the upcoming election and the state of the district.

According to Falae, the APC's claim of having no opposition in Ondo State is merely a tactic to intimidate other parties and their supporters, and he dismisses this notion as an empty boast.

Falae stated, "I heard the APC bragging that they have no opposition in Ondo, but this is just a ploy to intimidate people, as they have made no meaningful impact on the lives of residents, and they are aware that they do have opposition."

He further emphasized that the APC will soon realize the existence of strong opposition, particularly when the campaign officially begins, and he expressed confidence that the Allied Peoples Movement will shock them at the polls in 2027.

Falae, who is the nephew of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and traditional ruler, Oba Olu Falae, is confident in his chances of winning the election due to his familiarity with the district and his popularity among the people.

He argued that contemporary politics is driven more by the personality and popularity of candidates rather than the structure of their political parties, saying "the chances are that people, and luckily, politics nowadays is not about party anymore, it's about personality."

Falae believes that his own personality and popularity will be key factors in his success, citing the examples of past election winners in the state who owed their victories to their personal qualities rather than their party affiliations.

He stated that his motivation for seeking office is to serve the people and to reciprocate the support he has received from others, saying "what drives me is the people, and I always say this: I believe some people's destiny is tied to me, to my success."

Falae has been involved in politics since 2010, but has not held any position or received contracts, and he has been using his own resources to empower people and support community development efforts.

His ambition to represent the district in the Senate is driven by a desire to expand his empowerment and community development efforts, and he believes that representation at the Senate level will greatly enhance his ability to make a positive impact.
