APGA chieftain hails Soludo’s intervention in Anambra traditional stool dispute

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chinedu Obigwe, has commended Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, for his intervention in the Awka Kingdom traditional stool tussle, describing it as a move that averted a potential crisis.

Obigwe’s remarks come amid the lingering leadership dispute over the “Eze Uzu” stool.

The governor had reportedly sought the intervention of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure order in the dispute, particularly after a panel of inquiry set up to investigate the matter concluded its assignment.

Reacting in a press statement released on Sunday, Obigwe, also National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, said, “Soludo did marvellously well by taking the bull by the horn to put a stop to the ‘shameful desecration’ of Awka traditional stool.”

“Soludo is a serious-minded fellow, and when it comes to the issue of maintenance of the rule of law, you can only joke with him at your own peril. He has a duty to maintain law and order in Anambra State, and he is ready to go to any length to actualise that for Anambra people,” he said.

“Again, under the panel of inquiry law of Anambra State, the governor can exercise his powers to set up a panel of inquiry to look into serious matters capable of causing conflagration in any part of the state.

“Soludo did marvellously well by taking the bull by the horn to put a stop to the shameful desecration of Awka traditional stool. Anambra is in safe hands, and the people of the state will continue giving Governor Soludo the needed support to continue his administration’s good work,” the statement concluded.
